[數學,M1&M2] HKDSE Mathematics Question Review (2019-08-15)

This time we are talking about classical probability for DSE Core Level. This topic is non-foundation whenever counting (Permutation and Combination) is involved. Note that since Baye's Theorem is examined only in M1, in DSE core math we only deal the general case of conditional probability (as shown in pic below). Since set notation is out of DSE syllabus (HKEAA considers it enrichment common sense), we won't have difficult conditional probability questions that exhaust the whole set algebra.

Note the proof by Venn Diagram, and you will know that HKEAA will NOT ask you to derive conditional probability.

Sometime you will be at advantage if you know what Binomial Distribution is from M1, ASL M&S or ASL AppMath. This is the case when discrete power is involved in probability.
